Well my dad called me from work yesterday to tell me he caught a very tiny little snake that was slithering around the office. He put it in a bucket and brought it home for me to look at. I was really just planning on taking a look at it and then releasing it, but when I saw how tiny it was, I just couldn't resist. He or she is a cute little bugger and I was afraid it wouldn't have a great chance of survival if I released it.

So....I am now the owner of a newborn Wandering Garter Snake. Here are some pictures:

Cool! I had a garter snake about 20 years ago that I kept by itself for 2 years. Then one day I looked in her enclosure and found 8 baby garter snakes. Reptiles are so different than mammals!

I don't have any pictures at the moment, but I can describe it. It's nothing fancy. I just have a critter keeper (plastic small animal cage) set up with paper towels on the bottom, a medium sized water dish, 2 toilet paper tubes for hides, a couple sticks and some fake plants.

Aw so itty bitty and adorable! Definitely can't blame you for keeping him!
